Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for manufacturing a catheter and a catheter manufactured by the method such that it is possible to reduce the occurrence of leads being attached from electrodes and the risk of lead breakage. The method for manufacturing a catheter involves: a disposing step of disposing a lead in the lumen of a thermoplastic outer layer tube such that the lead extends in the longitudinal direction of the outer layer tube; an exposing step of exposing one end of the lead from an opening of the outer layer tube; a joining step of electrically joining the one end of the lead exposed from the opening to the inner wall of a ring electrode; a covering step of covering the opening of the outer layer tube with the ring electrode; an inserting step of inserting a thermoplastic inner layer tube into the lumen of the outer layer tube; and a combining step of heating the outer layer tube and the inner layer tube to combine the outer layer tube and the inner layer tube into a single piece and form an electrode tip such that the lead is embedded between the outer layer tube and inner layer tube layers.
