Abstract:
Provided is a method for manufacturing a glass container, the method being capable of precisely controlling the position and size of an air bubble to manufacture, with good yield, a glass container having an isolated air bubble in the bottom. The method for manufacturing a glass container having a mouth, a body, and a bottom is characterized by including: a step of forming a glass container having no air bubble formed therein from molten glass; a step of inserting a needle-like object into the bottom of the glass container having no air bubble formed therein, then removing the needle-like object to form an air bubble forming passage; a step of injecting air from the entrance of the air bubble forming passage and forming an inner space in the shape of an inverted tear drop extending from the air bubble forming passage in the bottom of the glass container having no air bubble formed therein to thereby obtain a glass container having an inner space that communicates with the outside; and a step of blocking the entrance of the inverted tear drop-shaped inner space by causing pre-cured glass to flow by the heat retained in the pre-cured glass to obtain a glass container having an air bubble isolated from the outside in the bottom.
