Title:
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING HYDROXYL GROUP SUBSTITUTION PRODUCT
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2010/071129
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a hydroxyl group substitution product by causing an alcohol to react with sulfuryl fluoride (SO2F2) in the presence of an organic base and a nucleophilic agent (X-). This is an industrial method which is capable of using an inexpensive reactive agent for a large-scale use and for which the operations and the refining are performed easily, and for which there is little waste. This method also can be applied suitably to the manufacture of an optically active hydroxyl group substitution product; in particular, an optically active α-hydroxyl group substitution ester and an optically active 4-hydroxyl group substitution proline. This method solves all of the problems of the prior art and can be implemented industrially.
