Abstract:
A method for manufacturing a light guide plate comprising: a punching process wherein base material used for shaping the light guide plate is punched with a frame shaped mold to create a punched plate (50) having rectangular end surfaces; and a heat transfer process wherein a pattern on a machining surface (60a) provided on the plate surface of a heated machining plate (60) is thermally transferred to at least one end surface (52) of the punched plate (50) by pressing the machining surface (60a) thereto, the machining surface (60a) being configured such that a part (62a2) facing the center of the end surface (52) in the longitudinal direction is further dented than the parts (62a1) facing both ends of the end surface (52) in the longitudinal direction.
