Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to efficiently manufacture liquid crystal panels having various types of non-rectangular shapes. This method for manufacturing a liquid crystal panel 10 having a non-rectangular contour comprises: a common liquid crystal panel manufacturing step for manufacturing a common liquid crystal panel 50; a dividing step for dividing the common liquid crystal panel 50 along a division line L10 following the contour such that a part of a sealing material 54 is removed and the remaining part of the sealing material 54 is preserved, and forming, in the common liquid crystal panel 50, a sealing-material removed end 50A from which the part of the sealing material 54 is removed so as to expose a liquid crystal layer 51; a wiring correcting step for correcting wiring 55, 56, 59 near a processed end 53E of an array substrate 53; and a sealing step for applying a sealing resin R onto the sealing-material removed end 50A in order to seal the liquid crystal layer 51 together with the remaining part of the sealing material 54 while covering a portion between respective processed ends 52E and 53E of the array substrate 53 and a CF substrate 52.
