Abstract:
A method for manufacturing an optical fiber preform based on the 3D printing technology, comprising a 3D printing device. The 3D printing device comprises an injection nozzle mechanism (1) and a plurality of feeding tubes (2) for transferring a printing material, a feeding element (3) being disposed on the feeding tube (2), the feeding element (3) being connected to a speed regulating apparatus (4), a smart heating element (5) being also disposed on the feeding tube (2), a storage bin (6) being disposed below the plurality of feeding tubes (2), the injection nozzle mechanism (1) being disposed below the storage bin (6), the injection nozzle mechanism (1) being connected to an extruding mechanism (7), the feeding tubes (2) transferring different types of raw materials of the optical perform, and the temperature of the smart heating element (5) being adjusted depending on the melting points or the phase change temperatures of the raw materials. By means of the present invention, a customized optical fiber preform can be manufactured, and the splice loss and coupling loss can be eliminated in the subsequent application of the optical fiber.
