A method for manufacturing a polarizing layered film, for drawing and contracting a polarizing layered film in a drawing step while the TD scale factor and the MD scale factor satisfy the relationship in the formula (1) below in a first interval in which 1.0 < TD scale factor ≤ 3.0, and satisfy the relationship in the formula (2) below in a second interval in which TD scale factor > 3.0, the TD scale factor being the length during drawing in relation to the length at the start of the drawing step in the width direction of a polyvinyl alcohol resin layer, and the MD scale factor being the length during contraction in relation to the length at the start of the drawing step in the longitudinal direction.
