Abstract:
A method for manufacturing a press-molded article of the present invention comprises: a first processing step in which a corner and a first flange part 30, which projects to a first side X1 in a first direction X with respect to a plate-shaped base part 20, are formed by plastically deforming a portion of one metal plate; and a second processing step in which a tip end surface formed at the first side X1 in the first direction X of the first flange part 30 is pressed to a second side X2 in the first direction X, and thereby a material of the first flange part 30 is caused to flow to the second side X2 in the first direction X, and a second flange part 40 projecting to the second side X2 in the first direction X with respect to the base part 20 is formed. A thickness T2 of the second flange part is less than a thickness T1 of the first flange part after the second processing step has been implemented, and the product of a radius R of an outer side of the corner and a ratio of the thickness T2 and the thickness T1, namely R×T2/T1, is less than 3.5.
