Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a method for manufacturing a press-molded body by molding a molding material comprising a reinforced fiber and a thermoplastic resin by using a cold press method. The problem can be addressed through a method for manufacturing a press-molded body using a molding material which comprises a reinforced fiber and a thermoplastic resin. Press-molding is performed by: holding, in a plurality of holders disposed on a conveying device, a molding material, which is heated to a temperature at or above the softening temperature; conveying the molding material to a position between an upper die and a lower die of a molding die; performing temporary shaping at a predetermined preliminary shaping rate by pressing the molding material with a presser; and closing the upper and lower dies and applying pressure.
