Abstract:
In this method for measuring terephthalic acid content, a sample liquid in which a solvent is mixed with a sample comprising a polyester or a polyester degradation product is prepared in a first step S101. The solvent used comprises chloroform and 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol and has an organic base added thereto. The organic base is at least one of a primary amine, a secondary amine, a tertiary amine, and a heterocyclic amine. The amount of terephthalic acid in the sample solution is measured by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy for hydrogen atoms in a second step S102.
