The present invention provides a method for preparing storage-stable biuret polyisocyanate. The biuret polyisocyanate product obtained by using the method of the present invention has excellent monomer content storage stability, i.e. little increase in the amount of monomer. The preparation method comprises the following steps: (1) using water as a biuretization reagent, reacting same with diisocyanate monomer in the presence of a catalyst to obtain a reaction liquid; and (2) separating to remove unreacted diisocyanate monomer in the reaction solution of step (1) to obtain a polyisocyanate product containing a biuret group, wherein in step (1), a Bronsted proton acid is also added so that the molar ratio of a uretdione group (the uretdione group+a ureido group+a biuret group) in the polyisocyanate product obtained in step (2) is less than or equal to 0.05, and the catalyst in step (1) is a compound different from the Bronsted proton acid.
