Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a method for producing aldehyde by a hydroformylation reaction in which an olefin is reacted with hydrogen and carbon monoxide in the presence of a Group VIII-X metal-phosphine based complex catalyst, the method comprising: (1) a step in which a reaction solution containing an accumulation of high-boiling point by-products is extracted from a reaction solution, and the extracted reaction solution is brought into contact with an oxygen-containing gas and oxidized; and (2) a step in which, after step (1), a poor solvent and hydrogen are mixed in the reaction solution, after which a Group VIII-X metal-phosphine based complex catalyst is crystallized, and the crystallized complex catalyst is recovered from the reaction solution.
