Abstract:

Provided is a method for producing an alkylphosphonic acid represented by general formula (I) (in general formula (I), R1 represents an unsubstituted or substituted alkyl group having 1-15 carbon atoms), and comprising a step for adding halogenated hydrogen and water to a phosphorus compound represented by general formula (II) (in general formula (II), the definition of R1 is the same as in general formula (I), R2 and R3 each independently represent an alkyl group having 1-15 carbon atoms or a hydrogen atom, wherein at least one of R2 and R3 is an alkyl group having 4-15 carbon atoms, and R2 and R3 do not simultaneously represent a hydrogen atom) to cause an acid decomposition reaction and thereby generate the alkylphosphonic acid represented by general formula (I).
