Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for producing an anion exchange resin, which is able to produce an electrolyte membrane that has excellent mechanical characteristics (strength). When an anion exchange resin, wherein a hydrophobic group and a hydrophilic group are bonded to each other through a direct bond, is produced by reacting a hydrophobic group-forming monomer and a hydrophilic group-forming monomer with each other in the presence of bis(1, 5-cyclooctadiene)nickel(0) that serves as a catalyst, 2, 2'-bipyridine that serves as a coligand, a bromide or iodide that serves as a promoter, and a reducing agent, the number of moles of bis(1, 5-cyclooctadiene)nickel(0) is set to 0.3 to 1.8 times the total number of moles of the hydrophobic group-forming monomer and the hydrophilic group-forming monomer.
