Title:
METHOD FOR PRODUCING AQUEOUS POLYMER DISPERSION
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2021/079750
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for producing an aqueous polymer dispersion, said method comprising a membrane filtration step wherein an aqueous polymer dispersion containing a polymer and water is filtered with use of a filtration membrane, thereby obtaining a concentrated aqueous polymer dispersion and a filtrate that does not contain the polymer. With respect to this method for producing an aqueous polymer dispersion, the inner surface of the filtration membrane has pores; if the total number of the pores is taken as 100%, 50% or more of the pores have a pore diameter that is smaller than the smallest particle diameter of the polymer; the surface pore diameter distribution has a dispersion of 0.2 or less; and in the membrane filtration step, the initial SUVA ratio expressed by formula (1) is from 0.8 to 1.2, and the absolute value of the difference between the initial SUVA ratio expressed by formula (1) and the secondary SUVA ratio expressed by formula (2) is 0.2 or less. (1): (Initial SUVA ratio) = B1/C1 (2): (Secondary SUVA ratio) = B2/C2 Consequently, the present invention provides a method for producing an aqueous polymer dispersion by means of membrane filtration wherein fouling on the inner surface of a filtration membrane and/or fouling within the filtration membrane is suppressed.
