The present invention is a method for producing an aromatic compound by cross-coupling reaction between a nucleophile and an electrophile, the method including a step for using Pd(OAc)2(PCy3)2 as a catalyst and causing the nucleophile and the electrophile to react so as to obtain the aromatic compound.
