Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for producing an aromatic compound with high efficiency using a corynebacterium mutant strain. Provided is a method for producing an aromatic compound or a salt thereof, the method including a step for culturing a mutant corynebacterium in which the function of a mdh gene represented by (a) or (b) is suppressed. (a) A polynucleotide that comprises the nucleotide sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:1.
(b) A polynucleotide that comprises a nucleotide sequence having at least 90% or higher identity with the nucleotide sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:1 and encodes a polypeptide having a malate dehydrogenase activity.
