Abstract:

A method for producing a bodily fluid-absorbing pad whereby web scrap, formed in cutting off a bodily fluid-absorbing pad having compression marks inside both side edges from a body fluid-absorbing web, can be reduced. A bodily fluid-absorbing pad (liner) (10) which is symmetrical in the longitudinal direction (P) and the transverse direction (Q), wherein the width in the transverse direction (Q) at both ends (31, 32) is larger than the width in the transverse direction (Q) at the center (33) and first and second compressed parts (21, 22) are formed inside both side edges (11a, 11b). At least one of the first and second rolls (302a, 302b) constituting compression rolls (302) for forming the first and second compressed parts (21, 22) is provided with compression units elevated from the peripheral surface. The compression units form a row in the peripheral direction of the roll and at least one row parallel to the aforesaid row is formed in the axial direction of the roll. The compression units in one row are offset in the machine direction with respect to the compression units in a row adjacent thereto in the axial direction.
