Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing a disposable composite pad for treating body fluid in which thinned parts are provided at the ends in the longitudinal direction. Also provided is a device for producing the same. A composite pad (10) for treating body fluid which is formed by releasably bonding a second pad (12) capable of absorbing body fluid to a first pad (11) capable of absorbing body fluid. A web comprising a continuum member consisting of a body fluid-absorbing layer and a body fluid-impermeable layer, which are unreleasably bonded to each other, passes between press rolls to thereby give a processed web in which thinned parts (23, 24) are formed at the sites corresponding to the ends (11c, 11d) of the first pad (11). In either this processed web or the first pad cut out therefrom, the body fluid-absorbing web is releasably bonded to the body fluid-impermeable layer to give a first composite web. In this first composite web, a body fluid-impermeable web, a pressure-sensitive adhesive and a separator are overlaid on the body fluid-absorbing web to give a second composite web. From this second composite web, the composite pad (10) can be obtained.
