Abstract:
A cationically polymerizable organopolysiloxane obtained by: incorporating an alkenylated epoxy compound (a4) in the presence of a cyano-group-containing organic compound (a3) either into a condensate obtained by subjecting both an organopolysiloxane resin (a1) comprising Q units and M units as major components, having an M/Q molar ratio of 0.6-1.2, and having an SiOH group content of 0-1.2 mass% and an organohydrogen(poly)siloxane (a2) to condensation with dehydrogenation in the presence or absence of the compound (a3) or into a mixture of the ingredients (a1) and (a2); and causing the SiH groups in the condensate and/or ingredient (a2) to undergo an addition reaction with the alkenyl groups contained in the ingredient (a4). This cationically polymerizable organopolysiloxane has a higher heavy-release effect than conventional cationically polymerizable organopolysiloxanes, can be inhibited from increasing in viscosity or gelling, and hence is suitable for use as a heavy-release additive for release sheets.
