Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for producing a cyclopropanecarboxylic acid ester represented by formula (III) (wherein R represents a chain hydrocarbon group which has 1 to 10 carbon atoms and may have one or more groups selected from a group consisting of a halogen atom, an acyl group which has 2 to 7 carbon atoms and may have a substituent, an alkoxy group which has 1 to 7 carbon atoms and may have a substituent, an alkylthio group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, and a phenyl group which may have a substituent; a cyclic hydrocarbon group having 3 to 10 carbon atoms; or a hydrogen atom), by reacting a cyclopropanecarboxylic acid ester represented by formula (I) (wherein R represents the same meaning as above) with a 2-cyanopropionic acid in the presence of a base.
