Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for producing an epoxy compound represented by the formula (3) below, which is characterized in that a dihydroxy compound represented by the formula (1) below is reacted with a compound represented by the formula (2) below in the presence of at least one substance selected from the group consisting of amine compounds and ammonium salts, and the thus-obtained reaction mixture is mixed with an inorganic base for further reaction. HO-Q1-Ar1-Ar2-Ar3-Q1-OH (1) (In the formula (1), Q1 represents a single bond or the like, and Ar1, Ar2 and Ar3 respectively represent one of the divalent groups represented by the following formulae. (In the formula (2), R1, R2 and R3 respectively represent a hydrogen atom or the like; Q2 represents a linear alkylene group having 1-8 carbon atoms; and X represents a halogen atom.) (In the formula (3), Ar1, Ar2, Ar3, R1, R2, R3, Q1 and Q2 are as defined above.)
