Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing a fluorine-containing polymer in which it is possible to efficiently and easily control to a suitable molecular weight when polymerizing a perfluoro monomer having a dioxolane ring that includes a polymerizable double bond in the ring skeleton, and in which the resulting fluorine-containing polymer does not tend to decrease in molecular weight even upon contact with a base. A method for producing a fluorine-containing polymer, the method comprising polymerizing a raw-material mixture that contains a monomer composition M11 containing a perfluoro monomer represented by formula m11 and a fluorine-containing monomer m11H obtained by substituting at least some of the fluorine atoms of the perfluoro monomer with hydrogen atoms, and/or a monomer composition M12 containing a perfluoro monomer represented by formula m12 and a fluorine-containing monomer m12H obtained by substituting at least some of the fluorine atoms of the perfluoro monomer with hydrogen atoms, wherein the total amount of the fluorine-containing monomer m11H and the fluorine-containing monomer m12H is 10-1,100 ppm relative to the total amount of the monomer composition M11 and the monomer composition M12.
