Abstract:
A hydrophilic member having high hydrophilicity, which is free from cracks in the hydrophilic coating surface, while having excellent adhesion between the base and the hydrophilic coating and excellent scratch resistance.
A method for producing a hydrophilic member, which is characterized in that a base containing a metal or resin is coated with a hydrophilic composition containing at least one hydrophilic polymer and the base coated with the hydrophilic composition is formed into a coil-like or roll-like shape and then subjected to a heat treatment so that the surface roughness (Ra) of the hydrophilic coating after the heat treatment is 80-150% of the surface roughness (Ra) of the hydrophilic coating before the heat treatment.
