Abstract:
A method for producing a melt, comprising bringing a first heating body into direct contact with a batch raw material for a glass and an inside part of a solid-liquid mixed layer which is produced by the modification of the batch raw material and in which a solid phase and a liquid phase are present in a mixed state to supply a heat energy from the first heating body to the solid-liquid mixed layer through heat transfer, and supplying the batch raw material over the solid-liquid mixed layer to continuously produce a liquid-phase melt having a larger bulk density than that of the solid-liquid mixed layer as a lower layer that comes into contact with the solid-liquid mixed layer.
