Abstract:
A method for producing a methacrylic resin composition, comprising: supplying a raw material solution essentially containing methyl methacrylate, a chain transfer agent and a radical polymerization initiator to a tank-type reactor continuously to perform bulk polymerization in the tank-type reactor, thereby producing a methacrylic resin; discharging a solution containing the methacrylic resin from the tank-type reactor continuously while producing the methacrylic resin in the tank-type reactor; adding a phosphorus-containing antioxidant agent that has a spiro structure and an aryl group per molecule and has never been in contact with a lubricant before to a solution containing the methacrylic resin and discharged from the tank-type reactor; supplying a solution containing the methacrylic resin and having the phosphorus-containing antioxidant agent added thereto to a devolatilization extruder; and removing a volatile matter in the devolatilization extruder.
