Abstract:
A method for producing an α-olefin oligomer composition which comprises polymerization step A1, in which an α-olefin is polymerized using a metallocene catalyst to obtain a polymer (a), distillation/separation step A2, in which the polymer (a) is separated by distillation to obtain a high-molecular-weight fraction (a1) and a low-molecular-weight fraction (a2), polymerization step B1, in which an α-olefin oligomer including the low-molecular-weight fraction (a2) is polymerized using an acid catalyst to obtain a polymer (b), and mixing step C, in which some of the polymer (a) or a product of hydrogenation thereof is mixed with some or all of the polymer (b) or with an isomer thereof or a product of hydrogenation of the isomer.
