Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing petrochemical products by a thermal cracking reaction, comprising the following steps: feeding methanol into a thermal cracking reaction atmosphere for a hydrocarbon such that the ratio of the carbon atoms of the methanol to those of at least one raw material hydrocarbon is not less than 0.08:1, subjecting the least one hydrocarbon to thermal cracking at a cracking temperature of 750-1200 º C, and quenching the resulting reaction products. Due to the effects of methyl groups and OH free radicals generated from methanol decomposition, the yield of olefins is increased, and the composition of final products can be controlled.
