Abstract:
[Problem] The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for producing porous carbon with which it is possible to vary the types of functional groups, amount of functional groups, or percentage of functional groups while suppressing changes in pore structure. [Solution] A method for producing porous carbon, the method comprising a first step for firing a material that contains a carbon source and a mold source to produce a carbonaceous fired body, and a second step for immersing the carbonaceous fired body in a mold removal solution to remove the mold from the carbonaceous fired body, wherein the method is characterized in that the types of functional groups, amount of functional groups, or percentage of functional groups present in the porous carbon is regulated by varying at least two or more conditions from among the type of material, the ratio of that which serves as the carbon source and that which serves as the mold source, the mold size, and the type of mold removal solution.
