Abstract:
Provided are: a technique for producing a porous cellulose medium, whereby it becomes possible to produce the porous cellulose medium without using a specialized gelling agent in a solution having, dissolved therein, cellulose acetate that serves as a raw material for the porous cellulose medium; a porous cellulose medium produced by employing the technique; and others. A method for producing a porous cellulose medium, comprising the steps of: preparing a homogeneous composition which comprises cellulose acetate, a basic compound and a solvent including water and has fluidability; and then subjecting the composition to a deacetylation reaction to deacetylate cellulose acetate, thereby gelating the composition.
