Title:
METHOD FOR PRODUCING POSITIVE ELECTRODE ACTIVE MATERIAL FOR LITHIUM ION BATTERIES
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/043878
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A method for producing a positive electrode active material for lithium ion batteries having a process that involves: mixing salts or oxides of the elements constituting a lithium transition metal oxide represented by the general formula LixMyPzOw (however, M represents a combination of transition metal elements, and X, Y, Z and W represent the component ratio of the elements in one molecule); after producing a mixture, irradiating the mixture with millimeter waves having a frequency of 10-100GHz, inclusive; and heat treating. This production method makes it possible to produce a positive electrode active material for lithium ion batteries that is of high quality, has low energy loss, and does not require crushing.
