Abstract:

The invention is a method for producing a rubber composition comprising a filler containing a rubber component (A) formed from at least one selected from natural rubbers and synthetic diene rubbers; a filler including an inorganic filler (B); a silane coupling agent (C); and a vulcanization promoter (D). By kneading the rubber composition in multiple steps such that during the first step of kneading, the rubber component (A), all or a portion of the inorganic filler (B), all or a portion of the silane coupling agent (C), and the vulcanization promoter (D) are added and kneaded and the specific energy of kneading in the first step (where the specific energy is found by dividing the amount of electricity consumed by the motor of the kneading unit in the first step of kneading by the total mass of the rubber composition) is 0.05 to 1.50 kWh/kg, it is possible to obtain a rubber composition with which coupling function activity is further increased, preferably the amount of heat generated is low, and abrasion resistance is good.
