Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of producing silicon compound-coated oxide particles, which are metal oxide particles coated on at least part of the surface with a silicon compound; said method is characterized by controlling wetting properties and color characteristics by controlling the ratio of Si-OH bonds included in the silicon compound-coated oxide particles. With this invention, it is possible to provide silicon compound-coated oxide particles which, in addition to control of wetting properties such as water repellency, oil repellency or hydrophilicity, a color characteristic selected from reflectance, molar extinction coefficient and transmittance is controlled.
