Abstract:
A new process is disclosed for producing EPO, said process comprising the steps of a) constructing a fusion gene BLG-EPO comprising: 1) regulatory elements needed for mammary gland specific expression, ie. 5' flanking sequence, parts of exons and introns, in combination with 3' flanking sequence , derived from B. Taurus lactoglobulin (BLG) gene; 2) human whole genomic EPO DNA encoding sequence, said fusion gene can instantaneously express in mammary glands of goat simulated milk secretion; b) micro-injecting said fusion gene into pronucleus of fertilized eggs of goat, thereby obtaining transgenic goat capable of secreting human EPO in milk specifically and at high level.
