Abstract:
A method of promoting ripeness of fruit by bringing a magnetic sheet having magnetism of 2 to 15 Gauss into contact with at least a part of a fruit tree; specifically, a method of promoting ripeness of fruit wherein the portion of the fruit tree with which the magnetic sheet is brought into contact is at least one of the trunk, the branch and the root; and specifically a method of promoting ripeness of fruit wherein the contact of the magnetic sheet is effected before the growth of fruit and is kept till ripeness of fruit. A magnetic sheet for use in any of the methods of promoting ripeness described above, having magnetism of 2 to 15 Gauss, which is obtained by applying a dispersed system prepared by uniformly mixing ferrite fine powder into a synthetic resin or a synthetic rubber to a flexible substrate to form a thin layer having a uniform thickness, applying a low voltage to the resulting structure to magnetize ferrite fine powder.
