Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for recovering lithium from a waste lithium secondary battery using dry smelting, the method comprising the steps of melting a waste lithium secondary battery containing nickel, cobalt, copper, and lithium, flux having a melting temperature of 1,400°C or less, and a lithium recovery agent, and separating and obtaining slag, a metallic phase, and a lithium compound, wherein the lithium recovery agent contains at least one of chlorine and fluorine, and each of the nickel, cobalt, and copper is contained 10 times or more in the metallic phase than in the slag.
