Abstract:
A method for recycling a plastic component (13) in which a coating film (12) that is mainly composed of a thermosetting resin is formed on the surface of a plastic molded body (10) that is formed of a thermoplastic resin, with a metal plating layer (11) being interposed therebetween. The method for recycling a plastic component (13) comprises: a first step wherein the plastic component (13) is exposed to a high temperature atmosphere so as to embrittle the coating film (12) and the embrittled coating film (12) is removed; and a second step wherein the plastic molded body (10) having the metal plating layer (11) exposed on the surface is brought into contact with a solution that dissolves the metal plating layer (11), so that the metal plating layer (11) is removed. The plastic molded body (10), from which the coating film (12) and the metal plating layer (11) have been removed, is recycled as a plastic starting material. Consequently, the plastic component (13) can be processed even if the size thereof is large since it is not necessary to crush the plastic component (13), and the recovery rate of the plastic molded body (10), from which the coating film (12) and the metal plating layer (11) have been removed, is high. In addition, the recovered plastic molded body (10) contains less impurities, and the plating metal can be also recovered in some cases.
