Abstract:
A method for the reduction of oxygenated compounds of rhenium or technetium with a reducing agent, wherein the reduction reaction is carried out in the presence of a macromolecular compound selected from the group consisting of cylic oligosaccharides, crown ethers and cryptands, wherein said macromolecular compound is effective to displace the equilibrium of the reduction reaction toward the formation of the reduced species of said oxygenated compound. The reduction reaction is preferably carried out in the presence of a ligand which can form a complex with rhenium or technetium to provide Tc or Re radiopharmaceuticals. 00000
