Title:
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR THE DIRECT AND ECONOMICAL ACCELERATED OXIDATION OF DOMESTIC WASTEWATER, LIQUID INDUSTRIAL WASTE, OTHER WASTEWATER AND DRINKING WATER IN SITU
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2021/258229
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method and system for the direct and economical accelerated oxidation of domestic wastewater, liquid industrial waste, other wastewater and drinking water in situ, which allows optimal cleaning of the water at very low cost by oxidising organic matter and eliminating pathogens in the water, and which is used to treat domestic wastewater, liquid industrial waste and drinking water at low operational cost. The method and system consists in directly forming hydroxyl radicals in situ in order to accelerate the oxidative degradation of organic pollutants and microorganisms, without using ultraviolet radiation or complex chemical products such as chlorine or any other type of catalyst, with low energy use and high redox potential (electron activity measurement) that results in high disinfecting power. The system takes up little space, is easy to transport, uses only ambient air, and eliminates odours. The method comprises: generating allotropic oxygen; mixing the generated allotropic oxygen with hydrogen peroxide; determining the optimal mixture of hydrogen peroxide and singlet oxygen, using ideal spray characteristics and the redox potential measurement as a control parameter; and generating hydroxyl radicals (OH) and incorporating the mixture of hydroxyl radicals into the water to be treated.
