Abstract:

A method and system for displaying a virtual gift during a live video broadcast. The method comprises: a first client (410) sending a picture data request to an application server (430) in response to a received input operation of a user (S110); the first client (410) receiving picture data sent by the application server (430), wherein the picture data comprises at least one picture (S120); the first client (410) drawing a virtual gift and generating virtual gift information according to the at least one picture, and sending the virtual gift information to a background server (440) (S130), wherein the virtual gift information comprises a live broadcast room identifier and virtual gift drawing information; and the background server (440) sending, according to the live broadcast room identifier, the virtual gift drawing information to a second client (420) in the live broadcast room corresponding to the live broadcast room identifier (S140); and the second client (420) generating a virtual gift according to the virtual gift drawing information (S150).
