Abstract:
The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. Embodiments herein disclose methods for handling roaming information in an edge computing network by a first ECS. The method includes determining whether a serving PLMN ID is included in a service provisioning request. In an embodiment, the method includes requesting with a core network (900) to retrieve a roaming information. The roaming information includes a list of VPLMNs supporting an edge service, a preferred ECSPs in a VPLMN, an EES provider identifier and a ECS provider identifier upon determining that the serving PLMN ID is not included in the service provisioning request. In another embodiment, the method includes retrieving a pre-configured roaming information. The pre-configured roaming information includes a list of VPLMNs supporting at least one edge, a preferred ECSP in a VPLMN, a EES provider identifier and a ECS provider identifier upon determining that the serving PLMN ID is included in the service provisioning request.
