Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and system for evaluating the state of health of a battery. The method comprises: when a duration during which a vehicle is in a sleep state exceeds a preset threshold, acquiring a first time, a first voltage and a first environment temperature when the vehicle starts the sleep state, and a second time, a second voltage and a second environment temperature before the vehicle ends the sleep state; acquiring a first battery state of charge of a battery corresponding to the first voltage and a second battery state of charge of the battery corresponding to the second voltage when at the average of the first environment temperature and the second environment temperature; and calculating the state of health of the battery on the basis of a dark current in the sleep state, the difference between the first battery state of charge and the second battery state of charge, the difference between the second time and the first time, and the capacity of a fresh battery. By means of the processing solution provided by the present invention, the states of health of batteries can be monitored in real time while reducing sensor costs.
