Abstract:
Provided is a method for preparing battery-grade, high-purity-grade lithium hydroxide and lithium carbonate from high-impurity lithium source and a system therefor. The method comprises the following steps: A. preparation of a lithium salt refined liquid: removing impurities by means of a physicochemical method and deeply removing impurities using an ion exchange chelating resin; B. preparation of battery-grade lithium hydroxide: comprising composite electrodialysis treatment, evaporative concentration crystallization, cooling crystallization, and solid-liquid separation; C. preparation of a high-purity-grade lithium hydroxide: subjecting the battery-grade lithium hydroxide obtained from step B to dissolution, filtration, cooling crystallization, solid-liquid separation, and a post-treatment; D. preparation of high-purity-grade lithium carbonate: subjecting the high-purity-grade lithium hydroxide obtained from step C to dissolution and filtration, introducing carbon dioxide into the filtrate, performing solid-liquid separation, and subjecting same to a post-treatment; and E. preparation of battery-grade lithium carbonate: adding a battery-grade lithium carbonate seed crystal into a substrate, introducing carbon dioxide and a lithium hydroxide solution resulting from the mother liquors obtained in steps B and D for reaction, followed by aging, solid-liquid separation and a post-treatment. Also provided is a system for implementing the method. The method proposes a differentiated physicochemical treatment method according to the difference of impurities in different lithium sources, is adapted to the needs of lithium source quality changes, has a wide adaptability, and has recycled by-products, thus being economical and environmentally friendly.
