Abstract:

A method for transmitting a buffer status report (BSR) and a user equipment, for solving the problem in the prior art that the BSR cannot satisfy the buffer reporting requirement when a UE is configured with more than four LCGs. The method for transmitting a BSR comprises: a user equipment (UE) generates the BSR, wherein the UE is configured with eight logic channel groups (LCGs); the BSR comprises a buffer index of at least one of the eight LCGs; the buffer index of the LCG represents the uplink buffer amount of the LCG; the BSR takes X bytes, and the buffer index of an LCG takes N bits, where X is an integer ranging from 1 to 17, N is an integer ranging from 5 to 16, and it is established at different time that X is 1 and N is 6; and the UE transmits the BSR to a network device.
