Abstract:
Provided are a method for transmitting a message, and an electronic device. In the method, an IoT device can generate a first IP message, wherein a destination address in a message header of the first IP message is an IP address of a hub device rather than an IP address of a target device. The IoT device can encapsulate the IP address of the target device in the message body of the first IP message, such that the hub device can determine, according to a firewall criterion of the IoT device, whether the first IP message needs to be sent to the target device. The hub device can serve as a firewall device, preventing the need to purchase a special firewall device for the IoT device, such that costs can be saved and the security of the IoT device can also be ensured. Exemplarily, the method can be applied to the Internet of Things.
