Abstract:
This microfluidic device observation device 1, for observing a specimen present inside of multiple flow paths 103a-103e arranged in the microfluidic device 100, is provided with: an imaging unit 4 which acquires an image of the microfluidic device 100; an extraction pixel selection unit 21 which, on the basis of the brightness values of the multiple pixels constituting the acquired image, selects extraction pixels from said multiple pixels on the basis of prescribed criteria; a flow path identifying unit 22 which identifies the positions of the multiple flow paths 103-103 contained in the image; a specimen feature pixel group detection unit 24 which detects, as a specimen feature pixel group, at least a prescribed number of continuous extraction pixels present inside of the multiple identified flow paths 103a-103e; and a statistical feature value calculation unit 26 which calculates a statistical feature value of the specimen on the basis of the number of specimen feature pixel groups and/or the number of the extraction pixels constituting each of the specimen feature pixel groups.
