Abstract:
This microfluidic device observation device 1, for observing a microfluidic device 100 comprising multiple same-width flow paths arranged in parallel in at least one sub-region, is provided with: an imaging unit 4 which acquires an image of the microfluidic device 100; an extraction pixel selection unit 21 which, on the basis of the brightness values of the multiple pixels constituting the acquired image, selects extraction pixels from the multiple pixels on the basis of prescribed criteria; a feature pixel group detection unit 22 which, from multiple extraction pixel groups each consisting of at least a prescribed number of extraction pixels in a continuous line, detects multiple extraction pixel groups which have at least a predefined degree of parallelism as feature pixel groups; a flow path boundary pixel group selection unit 23 which, from the multiple feature pixel groups, selects, as a flow path boundary pixel group, a set of feature pixel groups between which the separation distance corresponds to the width of the flow paths 103a-103e; and a flow path image extraction unit 24 which, on the basis of the position of the flow path boundary pixel group in the image, identifies the position of the boundaries of the one or multiple flow paths 103a-103e and extracts an image of the flow paths 103a-103e.
