Abstract:
A mobile communication terminal A performs short-range communication with another mobile communication terminal B by means of a short-range communication unit 101 and determines the communication distance to the other mobile communication terminal B. When the communication distance to the other mobile communication terminal B becomes equal to or greater than a threshold value, an information acquisition unit 102 acquires information about the other mobile communication terminal B or information about the mobile communication terminal A, or both. An abnormality determination unit 103 determines whether the mobile communication terminal A is in an abnormal condition on the basis of information (locational information, fitting information, etc.) acquired by the information acquisition unit. If the abnormality determination unit determines that the mobile communication terminal A is in an abnormal condition, a locking unit 104 locks the mobile communication terminal A or the other mobile communication terminal B, or both. In this way, an abnormal condition being experienced by a mobile information terminal, such as the mobile information terminal being lost or stolen, is accurately detected, thereby preventing unnecessary locking of the terminal.
