Abstract:
A mobile communications system comprises a network node to require at least one of IPv4 and IPv6 or both to be supported (change request to O-RAN Alliance). It is currently mandatory for all O-RUs to support IPv4 (reason for change). This is un-necessary for deployment by operators that only use IPv6 in their networks. Also certain deployments may require both options to be supported.
