The present invention relates to a modified poly(arylene ether) resin composition and an electrical wire manufactured using same, the electrical wire containing a cable, and the modified poly(arylene ether) resin composition comprising: a mixed resin comprising a poly(arylene ether) resin, a styrene-based resin, and a polyolefin resin; a flame retardant; and a mineral oil, wherein the mineral oil has a weight average molecular weight of 460 to 1,000 g/mol. The modified poly(arylene ether) resin composition according to the present invention includes a mineral oil, thereby making it possible to adjust the extrusion processability and physical properties of the electrical wire at a low cost without having a negative impact on the exterior or physical properties of the electrical wire during the manufacturing of the electrical wire. In addition, the modified poly(arylene ether) resin composition has excellent extrusion processability and improves productivity by reducing the costs of the base material. In addition, the electrical wire manufactured using the modified poly(arylene ether) resin composition is environmentally friendly since the electrical wire does not include poly(vinyl chloride) material.
